Maternity Counsellor & Midwifery Support Advocate

The focus of my care is on accompanying women and their partners/families through the internal (psychological and emotional) journey of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. Providing them with the space to engage with their internal experience and develop an increased understanding and awareness of themselves and their process.

I qualified as a midwife (from King’s College London) in 2024. While becoming a midwife was vocational, after spending over three years training in a large London NHS hospital (Chelsea & Westminster Hospital), I realised that an appreciation of pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period as a multi-layered (physical, emotional, psychological and even spiritual) process, was mostly absent.

The priorities, lens and style of practice within the NHS did not allow me to provide the care that I so deeply believe in, and which moved me to train as a midwife in the first place.

As a result, I decided to look for other ways in which I could provide care that was anchored in a holistic appreciation of pregnancy, birth and parenthood, and an understanding of it as a process of internal change and transformation (both for the woman and for their partner).
